Looking For Activities for the Kids During School Holidays?

At Dizzy's Castle Indoor Play Centre we are big believers in boosting kid's brain power, increasing their fitness levels (which affects self esteem and confidence) and enhancing our children's creativity. That's why we set up our medieval themed indoor play centre for kids (but let's not fool ourselves here.. it's for adults too!!). During the school holidays, we entertain a wide variety of programs that assist in achieving our objectives; from cooking classes to craft making to glow in the dark mini golf, our play centre has it all.

The best thing about it all, is that our kid's school holiday activities program is included in our entry price. Click on our flyer below and daily program to access all the details.

Give us a call on (03) 9318 1110 or visit Dizzy's Castle for more details about our kid's play centre.

Kid's Birthday Party At Home VS Party At Dizzy's Castle Indoor Play Centre

As a parent, I know how exciting it is when your kid's birthday party is nearing. I also know that when it finally comes time to organising everything, that initial buzz can quickly turn into a bucket load of stress!  Fortunately, you have a choice! Here are your two options:

Hosting your kid's birthday party at home means you have to buy all the food, cook it and serve it. At our indoor play centre we provide all the yummy party food and clean up all the mess!

Not having enough space is a big issue when it comes to holding parties at homes. Often, there is not enough space and the party gets very congested, not leaving enough room for children to play. At Dizzy's Castle we have over 1300m2 of fun filled space for your kids to run around and play in. Best thing is, you can enjoy coffee and cake or one of our delicious antipasto platters whilst the kids blow off steam in our toddler area (with jumping castle and ball pit), or play on our large slides with obstacle course or bounce around on our safety trampolines. There is even glow in the dark mini golf.

The worst thing about holding a kid's birthday party at home is you have to think about all the activities required to keep the kid's entertained. Dizzy's Castle has a very special kid's party entertainer to do just that! Dizzy the Dragon is a huge fan of kids and lives under Dizzy's Castle in her lair. She is 6 human years old and 600 dragon years old and offers great entertainment value for both kids and adults!

Parents often think that hosting a kid's birthday party at home is cheaper than holding it at an indoor play centre. You will be surprised how affordable play centres are as kid's birthday party venues, especially once you start buying all the party supplies, decorations, goody bags, food and fork out for the hire of a kid's party entertainer.

You see when we get down to it, there really is only one choice... that's right! Dizzy's Castle Indoor Play Centre is a reliable, medieval themed fun centre where both adults and kids alike can have fun. All you have to do is drive your kid's to our venue, eat the food that the staff serves, watch the kid's as they play and have fun and then drive them home! Just when did hosting a kid's birthday party get so simple?

Ask us about arranging a birthday cake for you, balloons and our package deals for themed birthday parties. Click on our facebook page and access our special facebook kid's birthday party deal (save up to 65% off normal kid's birthday party deals).

See you soon at Dizzy's Castle!

How Kid's Play Centres Help Combat Obesity in Children

Let's face it, obesity in children is a major concern for parents. Every-time I read in the newspaper that obesity is on the rise in children, I can't help but think about how much time kid's spend in front of the television, computer or playing with video games. According to a report in The Age, the numbers are not only extraordinary, but deeply worrying. One in every six Victorian children (aged two years old) is overweight or obese, and for children aged three, the proportion is almost one in five. Scary stuff.

The good news is though, that various programs that focus on healthy eating and active play can reverse the obesity trend and have a long lasting impact on children's eating, drinking and fitness habits. Kid's play centres are excellent vehicles for helping combat obesity in children. Dizzy's Castle was borne from an idea of linking fun, fantasy and fitness together. The owners of Dizzy's are health professionals (Nathan is a physiotherapist and his wife Helena is a dietitian), so there is a strong emphasis on a healthy menu for the cafe and children's parties.

Helena insists that there is a "no deep-fry zone" policy at Dizzy's, which makes a refreshing change from the sausage rolls and greasy chips available from other venues. Dizzy's Castle Indoor Play Centre also encourages healthy bodies and minds, with after school fitness programs, pre-school activities and cultural events that run throughout the year.

Kid's play centres offer a safe space for kid's to run around, blow off steam and have fun at the same time. The fantasy world setup at Dizzy's Castle also helps activate children's imagination and allows them to explore their creative side. Kid's play centres are a brilliant way for kid's to get exercise, because the emphasis at these venues is on physical activity.

We are proud that Dizzy's Castle provides a positive, healthy, fun and imaginative environment, where kids can really use up some energy. We feel that our kid's play centre is really helping combat obesity in children.

It is important to us that our venue is affordable and friendly for both adults and kid's, that's why we have designed the space so it caters to everyone's needs. From discount entry days, to free activities and glow in the dark mini golf during the week, Dizzy's Castle has designated toddler areas and five themed party rooms for children to celebrate their birthday parties.

So if you are looking for a fun filled afternoon or weekend, then come join us to eat, drink, dress up and play!

Cheers, Dizzy.

The Messiest Kids Birthday Parties You Would Never Want to Have at Your Home

If you are considering hosting your kids birthday party at home this year then there are a few kids parties ideas you may want to stay clear of. I can almost guarantee that you are looking for a memorable party event that will impress your kid and their friends.  There are some party ideas however you may just regret planning. In fact, if you read the rest of this kids birthday parties post, you'll discover the messiest kids birthday parties you would never want to have at home.

Kid's birthday parties require careful planning; you need to work out the time, date and numbers of guests, including what other adults will be there to help supervise and clean up! Invitations need to be designed and sent out, then stations set up for the day with kids activities and events. Having a messy party at home can include shaving cream, finger paint, water, chocolate and sprinklers. Any activities involving these elements can be fun in the beginning, but a real hassle to clean up at the end of the day.

One of the messiest kids birthday parties you would never want to have at home is a cooking party. Kid's can decorate their own cupcakes, with frosting and various sprinkles. Whilst the end result is finger licking good, the dishes and mess created require endless hours of work to get the house back to normal.

It is really worth asking yourself if you are brave (or crazy) enough to throw a messy party at home?! If you really want the kids to be able to make as much mess as they want, then consider hosting your kids birthday party at an indoor play centre. At Dizzy's Castle kids can dress up as junior chefs and learn how to knead dough, bake and ice cupcakes and of course, throw flour at each other! The goal: encourage the kids to make as much mess as possible because you don't have to clean up! The result: The best birthday party ever!

So the next time your kid suggests a themed birthday party you can confidently say yes knowing that you are not going to ruin your house because an indoor play centre will take care of all your needs!

Check out the video below to see how much fun the kids can have at messy kid's birthday parties and how much mess they make!
